This species of halfbeak is easy to ID. There are 3 to 9[usually 4 to 6] short vertical bars on the upper side of the body. Lower lobe of caudal fin longer than upp lobe. Dorsal spines:0, rays:12-14. Anal spines:0, rays:10-12.
