Bright yellow with a few alternating thick & thin black bars/stripes vertically in juveniles & young adults. Adults tend to have very faint stripes or hardly any & body turns to silvery gray. Some species, as shown above, loses it's stripes even though it's still a young adult. Lips thick & fleshy with no teeth. Fins are bright to light yellow.
