Mainly shallow coastal water on muddy, sandy bottom. Ascend rivers and near river mouths. Feeds on bottom living crustaceans and fishes.
High price [usually cut into smaller cuts]. High in demand. Very tasty meat. Usually eaten steamed. It's considered a higher grade than the 'fourfinger threadfin'.
5 filamentous rays. Longer caudal tail than the 'fourfinger threadfin'.
